Every parent can be involved, our next meeting is on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7-8pm!

Corran Integrated Primary School Parents' Council

A note from the Chairperson.

As a parent or legal guardian of a child or children attending Corran Integrated Primary School or Nursery, you immediately become a member of the Parents' Council. The Parents' Council of an integrated school plays a key role in consulting on issues that directly affect our children (eg. The Promoting Positive Behaviour Policy) as well as supporting the school by organising volunteers and fundraising.

We are a voice for the parents in the school and the postholders liaise with the school for discussion of points raised at our meetings and to arrange fundraising events. We also provide refreshments at many of the school events, such as open days, prize giving, graduation and Sacraments. We also arrange special visitors from Santa, Corey Bear and the Easter Bunny!

Our fundraising has provided essential equipment for the education of our children, such as new books, Ipads, topic-based nursery equipment and resources to support learning in all areas of the curriculum.  We concentrate our fundraising efforts on our school year and what is needed to support our pupils, teachers and team of staff.

Some of our past fundraising activities have included:

  • Pub quiz
  • Raffles, Ballots & Hampers
  • Christmas performances on DVD
  • Sponsored Abseil
  • Sponsored Zumbathon
  • Golf Tournament
  • Nature Trail Treasure Hunt
  • Summer Fun Day (which really shows off the community spirit we have at Corran!)

We are simply parents who strive to promote integrated ethos through parental involvement. The more people we can attract to help, the greater the things we can do together for the benefit of our school. We all have one thing in common, our children's best interests at heart.

For further information, we would be delighted for you to come to any of our meetings that are usually held on the first Tuesday of every month or contact one of the postholders via the school office.
